More about Roman finds at Chester House
A mile from Chester House, a quantity of Roman pottery &c. was found in one of the iron pits: several handsome shaped water pots, almost intact, two of them large and capable of holding a gallon. Also the lower jaw of a human head, the teeth in a remarkably fine state of preservation, taken from near the same diggings.
Hundreds of people have visited the Chester excavations.
