Higham’s Motor Ambulance
Nearly 100 calls answered in Twelve Months
Higham Ferrers Motor Ambulance Committee held its annual meeting in the Town Hall on Monday. Councillor A C A Colton presiding in the unavoidable absence of the Mayor (Coun. E J Rowlett).
The secretary (Mr R Cooper) reported that the ambulance answered 96 calls during the last 12 months and covered a total mileage of 2,574. Journeys were made to London and Arlesey.
An income of £180 included £72 15s from charges for the removal of patients, a Market Day grant of £50, £38 from employees’ contributions and £17 from private contributions and donations. There was a balance in hand of £105.
