Bozeat Parish Register

The old registers were lost in the fire of 1729.
The new register has a note about the fire and several other notes at the start:-
Mem: that the Fire mentioned on the opposite side happen'd about a fortnight after the Induction of the Reverend Mr Humfry Bradford into the Living of Bozeat who rebuilt the vicarage house and put everything else in that neat order in which it now appears; and moreover by the contributions of his Friends, particularly the noble Benefaction of one hundred Pounds from his truly generous Patroness Mrs Elizabeth Wiseman of the same Parish procur'd the late Queen Anne's Bounty, by which Living was improv'd about Twenty pounds per annum.

'Twou'd have been injurious to the memory of this worthy Vicar to bury in silence what he hath caused thus to be done for the benefit of his successors.

Wm Collison was Minister of Bozeat in 1646
Wm Farrow at the same time Minister of Strixton.
Mem: About 40 or 50 years ago a large School was kept at Strixton by the Rev'd W Harding, Rector of the said Parish who, with his Wife, lies buried within the Rails of Strixton Chancel. 1764
No of Inhabitants resident in this Parish as taken on the 27th Day of May 1811 amounted to 740. On May 28 1821 754.
