This plan is dated January 1904 and was drawn for Mr W G Goosey, by F H Allen, Architect of Kettering. The first part shows the New Inn Wymington, and the second is for the Wheatsheaf Inn at Hinwick.

Sale of an Inn—By order of the mortgagees, Messrs. Berry Bros, and Bagshaw, auctioneers, Kettering, held a sale of property at the Hind Hotel, Wellingborough, on Wednesday. The property consisted of the Wheatsheaf Inn, with outbuildings, range of farm premises, and about 88 acres of sound mixed land at Hinwick. The property was put up in various lots and withdrawn, and afterwards offered in one lot, being purchased for £1,775.

“Want of Capital”

The statement of affairs in the bankruptcy of Frank Leslie Wilson, aged 34, licensed victualler, late of the Wheatsheaf Inn, Hinwick, shows liabilities of £213 7s., of which £202 17s., is expected to rank for dividend. The available assets are estimated at £4 10s., and the deficiency id £198 7s.

Debtor gives as the cause of his failure “want of capital, bad trade, and want of experience in the licensing trade.”

Sharnbrook Pertrol Case Adjourned

The hearing of charges against William Clarke Gilbert, of the Wheatsheaf Inn, Hinwick, which should have taken place at Sharnbrook on Monday, has been adjourned until Monday next.

Gilbert has been under remand for several weeks on charges alleging that he stole or received quantities of petrol, diesel oil and lubricating oil.
