Mrs. Elizabeth Lines


Yesterday the funeral took place in the churchyard at Newton Bromshold of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Lines (76), who died at 21, Spring-gardens Higham Ferrers on Friday last. Mrs Lines, formerly a Miss Robbins, was born at Staughton Moor, but had lived at Newton practically all her life. Deceased was married at Newton Church. Her husband died 21years ago.

Both had been greatly respected all their lives. During the past eight years Mrs. Lines had  lived at Higham to be near her relatives. Last August she had a heart attack, and this necessitated her being forced to keep to her   bed all the time.

At the funeral yesterday the the Rev. W. H. McCleery (Rectory) officiated. A fully choral service was held in the church. The hymns “Nearer my God to Thee” and “Christ will gather in His own" were sung, Mr. Gadsden officiating at the organ. 

The body was interred in the grave where the husband was buried. Mr. Arthur Sanders, of Rushden, carried out the funeral arrangement. The mourners were Mr. T. Lines, Mrs. Sanders, Mr. W. H. Lines, Mrs. Knight, Mr. R. Lines, Mrs. Lindsey, Mr. C. J. Lines, Mrs. G. Lines, Mrs. Hartwell, Mrs. J Lines.
