| Newton Bromswold lies on the Northamptonshire border with Bedfordshire, not far from the A6 road, adjoining Higham Park which was created as a deer park in the 11th century but is now a farm.
The hamlet has about 26 houses and its school closed in 1953 (demolished in 1962). The village can be approached from Yelden, in Bedfordshire or from Higham Ferrers, Chelveston cum Caldecott or Rushden in Northamptonshire. Take the "no through road" past the Swan public house and follow the road round to the right. At the end of the lane St Peter's Church stands on a bank to the right but is almost obscured from view by a large yew tree.
The churchyard is managed with wild-life in mind and has been a winner and a runner up in the "Northamptonshire Wildlife Trust" annual conservation awards. In the porch there is a note of the keyholders but you can make prior appointment by telephoning the parish office.
