Testamentum Willm Parks de Newton

In the name of god Amen the second of March in
the yeare of our lord god 1599 and in the two and fortieth yeare of the
raygne of our soveraigne lady Elizabeth by the grace of god Queene
of England Fraunce and Ireland defendrix of the faith &c I Willm
Parks of the towne and parish of Newnton Bromeshoulde in the Countie
of Northampton yeoman beinge sicke in body and of good and memory doe
make and ordayne this my last will and testament in manner and
forme followinge. First I doe commend my soule into the hands of Jesus Christ
the sonne of the livinge (and of)
allmightie god Jehovah whose meanes I trust to be saved and my body to be
buryed in the Church or churchyeard of Newton . Item I give and bequeath
unto Symond Peere my father in lawe halfe a score of ewes
and lambes and halfe a score of lambehogges and a gray horse and five
marks in money. Item I give and bequeath to Anges Coulgrave my
sister xl s. Item I give to every godchild that I have a sheepe. Item I give
and bequeath to Willm Graunts three children iij li and to m y sister Katherin
Graunt xx s. item I give an bequeath to Elizabeth Sprott my sister xx s
Item I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Robt Hensman two sheepe. Item I
give and bequeath unto Dorothy Burt a sheepe. Item I give unto Agnes
Cowlgrave my sister two stocks of beene. Item I give more unto my sister
Katherine Graunte a bee hive and to every one of her children a bee
hive. Item I give to every one of my brother John Parks myne exectutor
vhildren two sheepe a peece. Item I ordayne constitute and make my wellbe
loved brother John Parks myne executer of all my goods and chattels
moveable and unmoveable whatsoever my debts beinge payd and my
funerall expenses discharged and my body honestly brought to the
grave Willm Warde Also Glover John Edmunds John Coocke widow
Gowler Gyles Perry and Edward the Myller to every one of these doe
I give a bushell of corne. Item I give to the repayre of the church a noble
and to the repayre of the cawsey a noble. Item I give and bequeath to
the poore of the towne whose names be Thomas Rolfe Robt G(oo)d
Agnes Richardsonne Hugh Huit widowe Grante Robt Flawne
Peter Atkins. In witness whereof I put to my hande the day and yeare
abovenamed before these witnesses Richard Meridith Simond Peere
Willm Parks Edmund Negos.
