The Cavendish Land Company Limited to freehold land at Rushden in the County of Northampton

14th August 1868 By Indenture of this date made between Nicholas Fisher of Milton in the County of Northampton Farmer of the 1st part William Fisher of Maze Pond Southwark Surrey Leather Merchant and John Rigby Fisher of the same place Leather Merchant of the 2nd part William Wansey of Bognor in the County of Sussex Esqr. Edward Hamelton of 22 Grafton St Middx MD & Henry Wansey of 50 Moorgate Street London Esqr of the 3rd part and Fredk Charles Nightingale of Wimbledon Surrey Esqr & Hy Wansey of the 4th part

This Indenture made the sixteenth day of October One thousand nine hundred Between The Cavendish Land Company Limited an incorporated Company whose registered Office is at 68 Victoria Street in the City of Westminster (hereinafter called the Company) of the one part and John Sutton of High Street Northchurch Great Berkhampstead in the County of Hertford Bootmaker (hereinafter called the Purchaser) of the other part Whereas the Company is seised or otherwise well intitled to the hereditaments hereinafter described and intended to be hereby conveyed with the appurtenances for an estate of inheritance in fee simple in possession and the Purchaser had agreed with the Company for the purchase thereof for the sum of Seventy two pounds ten shillings Now this Indenture witnesseth that in pursuance of the said agreement and in consideration of the sum of Seventy-two pounds ten shillings on or before the execution of these presents paid by the purchaser to the Company (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) the Company as beneficial owners hereby convey with the Purchaser All that piece or parcel of land situate on the North Western side of Rushden Court Avenue in the Parish of Rushden in the County of Northampton bounded on the North East side by land belonging to Thomas Edward Chapman on the South Western side by land belonging to William White and which said piece or parcel of land has a frontage of Two hundred and forty feet (or thereabouts) to Rushden Court Avenue and a depth of One thousand one hundred and fifteen feet or thereabouts and contains by admeasurement Six Acres and nineteen perches little more or less and is deliniated and shown on the plan drawn on these presents and is thereon distinguished by the colour Pink To hold the same unto and to the use of the Purchaser in fee simple And the Company hereby acknowledge the right of the Purchaser to production of the documents mentioned in the Schedule hereto and to delivery of copies thereof and hereby undertake with the Purchaser for the safe custody thereof In Witness whereof the Company have hereunto caused their Common Seal to be affixed and the Purchaser hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.
