Poultry Farm Damage
Chicks And Stack Burned On Court Estate
Much damage was caused by fire on the poultry farm of Mr. Arnold Shackleton in the Court Estate, Bedford-road, Rushden, on Tuesday afternoon. The outbreak was discovered at 2.20p.m. and two wooden huts, a chicken brooder, 150 chicks incubators, poultry food, garden tools. fruit trees and a three-ton stack were burned out. In the charge of Leading Fireman Clark the Rushden N.F.S. sent two mobile dam units and one major pump and were fighting the fire until 7.30p.m. W. R. Goosey represented the police.
