In the name of the father & of the sonne & of the holy ghoste Amen I Jhoan Marshall of Chelveston in the County of North’ton Widdow beinge sick in bodye yet of perfect memorye (the lord be praysed) do thus make my last will & testament as followeth:
Imprimis I give unto Henry Marshall my husbands sonne twentie shillings a payer of flaxen sheets a payer of harden sheets a new blanket two flaxen pillowbeeres two of the best peces of pewter & a wosted kirtle for his daughter
Item I give unto Jhon Astill twentye shillings a payer of harden sheets & a hempe teere pillowbeere to be delivered him at the age of xxiiij yeares if he be then liveinge If he dye before the age of xxiiij yeares then my will is that Henry Marshall shall have that which was unto him bequeathed
Item I give & bequeath unto Elzabeth Astill the great chest the bed I lye in that is the bed stead a matterice two payer of harden sheets one flaxen sheete one hempe teere boardcloth foure peeces of pewter two blankets & the worst coverlet one boulster & a fustian pillow two kettells two pillow beeres one flaxen & one of hemp teere two bowles a tubb a payle five kerchiefes & a yarde kerchiefe a flaxen apron & two harden aprons six neckerchiefes one graye gowne & a graye petticote a russet safegarde two yellow cushins two smocks a lynnen wheale a porringer a latten Candlestick and a sawcer
Item I give & bequeath unto Margery Waight one smocke [one] apron one kerchiefe one neckerchiefe a payer of harden sheets
Item I give & bequeath unto Thomas Bishop one cofer & a payer of harden sheets
Item I give & bequeath unto Annis Bishop one cubberd & a platter
Item I bequeath unto Susan Roo my wicker chayre & a greate bowle that I use to soope clothes in & a petticoate which was her grandmothers
Item I give unto Edward Roo a pewter beker
Item I give unto Christian my sister a smocke a neckerchiefe & an apron
Item I give unto all my godsonnes (except Thomas Bishop) six pence a peece
