In the name of god amen the
forthe day of Marche and in the yere of our
Lord god M ccccc xlvij and in the firste
yere of King Edwarde the sixe King of
Ingland France and Ireland king and defendor
of the faithe and in erthe supreme heade of
this churche of Ingland and Irrelande
witnessethe that I Richard Lawe of Cawlcotte
husbandman In the countie of Nort[hampton] dothe
make this my laste will and testament as
forme following firste I bequethe my soule to
Allmyghtie god my maker and redeemer and to our
blessed ladie sent Marie the virgyne and to all
the holye companye in heavyne and my bodie
to be buriede in the churche yarde of sent
John the Baptist in Chels[to]n and Cawcotte. Item I
bequethe to the mother church of Peterburghe
ij d. Item to the hie aulter p[ ] de(cimis) ob(lits) a
s(trik)e of malte. Item to the sepulchre light a
strike of malte. Item to the rode light iiij d.
Item to the belles a strike of malte. Item to the
meayntennces of the briges a strike of malte
Also I bequethe to John Lawe my son my house
at billing after custom and maner a cowe
a bullocke iiij shepe one acre of whete ij
bey hewes xiij s & iiij d In money also I bequethe
to Alyne Lawe my doughter a cowe and a
bullocke iiij shepe ij beyhewes one acre of whete
xl d in moneye. Also I bequethe to Avis Lawe
my doughter a cowe and a bullocke iiij shepe
ij beyhewes one acar of whete and xl d in
money. Also I bequethe to everye one of my
brothers children a strike of barley. Item to every
one of my godchildren iiij d. Item to every pore
bodie in Chelston and Cawcotte a pe__ of malte.
Item to Richard Stockwell a ewe and a lambe and
a half acar of barlie. Item to Ays Wightwe(b)e* my
syster xl d in money. Item to Johan Lawe my
syster xl d in moneye. Item to Sir Thomas bell
xl d in moneye. Item to Hewe Lambe one shepe.
Item to Richard butterye a cote and a shert
also I bequethe to Elizabethe Lawe my wife
and to Willm Lawe my son my house lying in
Cawcotte with all the landes closes pastures
to the same belonging and one half yarde of
land in the same towne also I will that after
the decesse of Elizabeth Lawe my wife that
Willm my son shall have yt to him and to his
heires and assignes after custome & maner.
The residewe of my goodes not bequeathed I
gyve and bequethe to Elyzabethe by wife & to
Willm Lawe my son whom I make my full
executors equallye to be devided the one half
to Elizabethe Lawe my wife and the other half
to Willm Lawe my son so that my debts be payd
and my will be fulfilled also I bequethe to Robert
Lawe my brother a cowe also I will that Robert
Lawe my brother to be my supervisor of my will
to se that my will be fulfilled and these
men bering witnesse that this ys my laste will
and testament Sir Thomas Bell, Willm Blowfeld
and Nycholas Bot[on] with others.
