In the name of the father & of the sonne & of the holy ghoste amen: I Roman Chettle of Chelveston cum Caldecote in the County of North’ton, beinge sicke of bodye yet of perfect memorie (the lord be praysed) doe thus make my last will and testament

Imprimis I bequeath my soule to god that gave it my bodye to the grounde & my goods to the world as followeth:

Item I give unto Margeret my daughter

Item I give unto Jhoan my daughter

Item for my land beinge coppye hold land my will is that it shall so passe & be so given & bestowed amongst my people as it is alreadye or as it shall hereafter be given up by surrender accordinge to the law to any of their uses

Item I give unto the poore of the parish

Item I give toward the repayre of our church

Item all the rest of my goods & chattels moveable & unmoveable whatsoever I give & bequeath unto Elizabeth my wife whome I institute appoint & make the full & sole executrix of this my last will & testament

In Witnesse whereof I have sett to my hand and seale the twelveth daye of September in the seaventeenth yeare of the reigne of our Sovereigne lord James by the grace of god of England France & Ireland Kinge &c of Scotland the fiftye thrie defender of the faith &c
