In the name of God amen the seventh daye of februarii 1617 I John Atkins of Chelston near Calcote in the Countie of Northton yeoman beinge sicke in bodie yet of good & perfect memory laude & praise be to Allmightie God theirfore do make this my last will and Testament in Maner & forme as followeth:
First I geive & bequeath my soule to Allmightie God my Creator & to his sonne Christ Jesus throw whos merits I hope to be saved and my bodie to the earth And for my Worldly goods I geive & bequeath unto Iszabell Graye my daughter half of the pewter on brown heffer & on brown pide Cowe tow payre of flaxen sheets vj table napkins A square bordcloth wrough at the Corners The leaste brass pott & the leaste brass panne on latten candelsticke on latten Chafengdishe on salte on dripinge pan & my beste Cloke on hogge of bacon & on croe of Iron ij stox of bees yf ye be Alive
Item I geive unto the beadsmen at higham ferrers & the woman their iiijs iiijd Item I geive unto Alce Porter my servant on payre of sheets
All the Reste of my goodes & Chattels unbequeathed whatsoever I geive & bequeath unto Nicholas Atkins my only sonne whom I do institute & make my full & sole executor and I do utterly Renounce & Revoke all other wills or gyftes at anytime heartofore made whatsoever
