Rushden Echo, 30th December 1928
School Concert 1928

Chelveston School closed for the Christmas Vacation after the final session with a short concert, the programme of which was provided by the scholars.

The items rendered by the infants proved interesting and reflected great credit on Miss Groome, to whom fell the preparation. The elder scholars also rendered citations and plays with credit to themselves, as their part of the programme was entirely their own work.

The headmaster, in closing, thanked the parents for their co-operation in sending  the scholars regularly, with the result that for the third quarter in succession the attendance reached the high figure of 98 per cent.

Miss Simpson wished all present a happy Christmas and called for cheers for the teachers. In reply, the headmaster (Mr. B. A. B. Rose) called for “roof raising cheers” to thank Miss Simpson and Mr. C. Britten for their presence and interest.
