On holiday in Florida 2009

Most of my time in England was in what they called "special services" which is the entertainment section. I travelled throughout Europe playing other baseball teams. It was an exciting time then and very good duty.

Playing Baseball at Upper Heyford
My baseball picture was taken at Upper Heyford playing for the Sky Kings. I was transferred to Chelveston in 1959 to 1960 and also played baseball there. I did play professionally here the states for a while. I spent many a night in RUSHDEN drinking with the locals.

Our Baseball Team from Chelveston presented American Baseball, before a crowd of 3000, for the first time at Corby. We helped a little in introducing league Baseball to the area. This took place in the summer of 1960.

I found a picture of that event and receiving the coat of arms from Corby's Chairman of The Urban District Council, Mrs L. Harrison, who said "This is the first time the Corby Coat of Arms have been given to anyone." The plaque inscription is "DEEDS NOT WORDS" and underneath "Urban District Council of Corby".

I spent a great deal of my free time in London and loved that mostly. My current picture was taken in Florida at The Hard Rock Casino. Now I'm retired from U.S. Post Office.

I enjoy the internet with all its interests. My wife passed away 7 years ago so it gives me something to do. One of my favorite places to travel in summer is the Lake Erie islands, just an hour away.

Thanks for the fondest memories of your beautiful country and area!
