Cricket Club 1889

CRICKET CLUB—A meeting of this Club was held on the 20th ult. in the schoolroom, when, on the accounts being read, it was found that the financial condition was very satisfactory, showing a balance of £1 5s. 4d. to the good.

A vote of thanks was unanimously accorded to the secretary (Mr. W. D. Wright) for his services during the past season. It was also decided to finish up the season with a dinner. In pursuance of this plan the members assembled on Wednesday evening, November 27th, when a capital repast was provided by Host Bonfleld, to which 24 sat down. Amongst those present were the Rev. P. E. Wrench (captain), Mr. J. M. Gray (president) Mr. J. Ashdowne (Higham Ferrers), Messrs. J. Browning, J. Eady (two senior members), W. Knight, Brazier, Page, &c.

After ample justice had been done to the good things provided, the remainder of the evening was passed in a convivial manner. It was unanimously resolved to make the dinner an annual affair.
