Albert Edward Brittin, farm labourer, Chelveston, was summoned for making a bonfire within 50 feet of the centre of the highway on Nov. 23rd.
P.C. Earl said the man told him that his brother instructed him to burn the rubbish there. The fire was six feet from the edge of the road. Rain was falling, and the smoke blew down the road about 40 yards and obstructed the vision of motorists.
