Sunday November 11th 1928 was marked at Chelveston by a united service held in the Church at 10.30a.m.

The ex-Service Men in the village paraded under ex-Sergeant Major Barnes, and marched to Church. Other bodies which similarly marched in procession were the Women's Institute, the Parish Council, the Church Sunday School, the Baptist Sunday School and members of the Bible Class.

The Church was completely full when the service opened with the singing of "O God, our help in ages past." Following the hymn the Vicar lead the congregation in prayer. The Lessons were read by Mr. Lack and Mr. Hinson of the Baptist Chapel. At 10.50 the congregation listened to a broadcast of the Massed Bands at the Cenotaph, from a loud­speaker and set specially installed in the Church and observed, in coincidence with the Whitehall throng, the solemn silence announced by Big Ben. Following the conclusion of the service there, prayers were read and a brief address given by the Vicar, at the service.
